I chose Akira to help me create a drastic new look for a "new me", in a "new year," with a "new outlook" on life.

Kim, the owner, and Jeanine, the manager, treated me like a celebrity as I prepared to cut off 11" to donate to Locks of Love. My new style is fabulous; it is a modern cut with a trendy color. But just as important to me as the service performed is the service provided.

Not only did Jeanine do a great job cutting and coloring my hair but she also took the time to talk to me about what would look good, what my hair type could do, what would work with my single mom raising 2 young boys lifestyle, and how to style it. Once the transformation was complete, Jeanine took the time to touch up my makeup knowing I would be showcasing my new "do" that night.

My students laugh when I tell them I went to Akira to get my hair done and walked out feeling as though I had made friends. I've had my hair done many times, never before has EVERYBODY loved my new style. I also had the best time, felt more appreciated, and cared for than ever before when I went to Akira.
